Surveillance camera technology now offers huge return on the investment. What used to be out of reach has come down in price, while performance has substantially increased. While we can still offer you the old DVR technology, we are now using computers with software instead – to gain functionality that DVRs do not offer. The new technology is called NVR (Network Video Recorder), power and flexibility are it’s hallmarks.
We can configure your camera system as a separate network to maximize performance and security, and allow those who are trusted the access they need – or if you are just adding a few cameras we can share resources. You have choices, and you can decide to reconfigure the system later as it expands.
In the above image, performance is maximized for both network segments. The cameras server also acts as a NTP (Network Time Protocol) time server so every camera is synchronized. Mobile apps, access through the Camera Server’s web server interface, Window’s Firewall, multiple network cards, and intelligent configuration provide the owner of this type of system secure access and maximum network performance.
In the above image, we could find poor video and PC network performance, and overall security is a challenge – basically everything on the network is chattering and therefore slowing the whole system down. Cameras may not perform to peak specifications, and troubleshooting can be a challenge. Basically, poor network design – but in very small systems (like a home with few cameras and minimal internet usage) it may be “good enough”. Adding WiFi cameras can really negatively impact performance, so if it is your only choice those cameras should be operating off their own Access Points.
The old way of video recording was with a DVR like above, a device which can be difficult to navigate and impossible to change the programming to suit your needs. They come in all prices from really cheap to extremely expensive. You get what you pay for – but again, not being a PC it does not lend itself to the kind of customization which provides a comprehensive solution.
We recommend, sell, and support an application that runs on a PC or Server known as Blue Iris – which is feature rich and far surpasses the capabilities of the DVR type technology. We use our experience to set the system up and train you or your staff how to make changes, such as motion detect, alert handling, and administering security. Use up to 64 cameras (webcams, camcorders, network IP cams, analog cards, or your PC desktop). Capture JPEG snapshots or capture movies in standard MP4, AVI, advanced DVR, or Windows Media file formats.
We are an Axis Authorized reseller, a Trendnet Partner, also offer HIKVISION and Dahua brand IP cameras and supporting devices and accessories.
We know network camera systems, and can provide solutions tailored to your needs. While you can purchase the parts and piece it together, it’s likely the final cost will either be higher than hiring a professional – and the performance may be unacceptable… perhaps effecting your entire network. We can come in at any point of your project and make it a success.
Your security is not just owning a system like this, but it’s also implementing it properly so that only authorized users have access. You don’t want your own system being hacked, or even be used against you.
For very large installations, we can arrange for a leading camera and DVR manufacturer to meet at your facility and engineer specific solutions, which we would then offer to you if you feel the DVR route is best for you. Understand that the application we offer supports up to 64 cameras and runs on common PCs or Server and handles the needs of most.
Lastly, we’ve all seen grainy pictures on TV where reporters ask for help identifying someone. These systems are far superior to those. We’ve installed systems in offices, common areas of high rise condominiums, clubs, and homes. We wish we could list the names of our camera clients, however as part of a security system we respect their right to keep this information confidential, however well-qualified prospective clients may be welcomed at an existing client to view an installation similar to their needs.

Family of black bear roams the neighborhood in Naples.
“We never knew a family of black bear made routine trips through the property until the camera system caught them in the act. Since installation, we have seen deer, bobcat, dogs, cats, rabbits, opossum, bear, fox, coyote, racoon, AND alerts from the system prompted us to immediately find a teenage neighbor sneaking around the property – he was greeted and asked why he was there and hasn’t come back since he realized we have a comprehensive surveillance system in place.”
